Our Commitment

Mission Statement

The mission of SwagMakers is to print and make products that help our customers promote their brands, teams, schools, and causes.

Made Here

All our products are designed, printed and assembled in the United States at the factory we own and operate in Cranston, Rhode Island. That’s what we mean by “Made Here”. We guarantee 100% USA labor content on every order and every product.

Country of Origin

We are often asked about the Country of Origin of our products. The Country of Origin for all our products is the United States of America.

Every imported article must be marked with its Country of Origin, which is defined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as the place where goods were produced, manufactured, or substantially transformed into a new, different item. We do not import any of our assembled products.

Made in USA

Why don’t we simply say all our products are Made in USA? The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has a restrictive definition of that term, requiring that ALL or VIRTUALLY ALL the inputs of a product ORIGINATE in the United States.

That means the entire supply chain, including natural resources, raw materials and labor inputs, must originate in the United States. When we don’t use imported parts, we describe our goods as MADE IN USA. When we use imported parts on an item, we describe them as MADE HERE.

Many of our products meet the standard of “Made in USA” as defined by the Federal Trade Commission. Each variant of our products has a box showing our claim, either “Made in USA” or “Made Here”, along with an estimate of what percentage of the inputs to the product are USA sourced.

Made in USA and Made Here should be important factors in every customer’s buying decision. By purchasing products assembled or made in the United States, customers

·     create American jobs,

·     contribute to the strength of our domestic economy,

·     support ethical and socially responsible employment practices, and

·     ensure compliance with safety standards and environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.

Ethical, Social and Environmental Compliance

Our operations comply with all applicable state and Federal laws and regulations. To be sure of that, we employ third-party accrediting agencies who verify our compliance with those requirements.

By making our products in the United States and meeting those standards, our customers can be sure that:

·     We are operating ethically, keeping their financial information secure, and treating as confidential their end customer information and orders.

·     Our employees are working voluntarily, paid fairly, treated well, and enjoy safe, clean working conditions.

·     Our factory is environmentally compliant and not introducing toxic materials or pollution into the air, water or waste stream.

Our Products and Business Process

1. Safety

People will use or wear our products. Our primary commitment is to be sure that every product leaving our factory will be safe to use or wear.

We buy unprinted polyester webbing and ribbon and use it as the base material for printing our products.

Our base webbing and ribbon meet the standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and comply with California Proposition 65.

Additionally, all our base webbing is compliant with the Federal government’s procurement standards as provided by the Berry Amendment.

We use water-based, non-toxic dyes for printing our products. Safety data sheets are available upon request.

We assemble promotional and retail products using printed webbing and a variety of parts. We have testing data for all the parts we use.

We regularly make products that comply with the child safety requirements of CPSC, California Proposition 65, and Berry Amendment requirements. Please contact us to discuss your needs in this regard.

2. Print Quality

As a printer, our primary commitment is to accurately reproduce the artwork provided by our customers.

This includes meeting customer expectations as to color within the parameters of our dye sublimation print technology and the color gamut of our dye sets.

We use the Pantone© Matching System for color identification and comparison. This is the most universal standard for communicating color for printing purposes.

With respect to retail products using our proprietary art designs, we take pride in printed products that feature high resolution art reproduction, clear and crisp prints, and vivid colors.

3. Production Quality

As a maker, our primary commitment is to deliver products that are carefully, correctly and consistently made, regardless of their intended use.

Our products generally fall into two basic use cases:

1.   Retail products that are intended for sale to consumers, and

2.   Promotional products that are event-focused give-aways.

In either case, our assembly team makes each item by hand with care, according to the product specification, and with close attention to fit and finish.

We maintain two layers of quality control on the assembly process for every order, regardless of quantity.

4. Service Quality

We are committed to timely, clear two-way communications with our customers.

As a maker of custom products, we are acutely aware that meeting customer expectations depends on making exactly what the customer wants.

The only way to achieve that goal on every order is to provide a sales and fulfillment environment that enables timely, clear, two-way communication between customer and vendor.

By their very nature, custom printed products require more communication between customer and vendor than off-the-shelf products. In order to fulfill orders correctly, we need to understand exactly what our customers wish to purchase.

We have tried to make our online store as simple and easy to use as possible. However, custom orders often need more back-and-forth than a simple online order and auto-response confirmation.

To that end, we employ order entry and customer service representatives who have English as their native language.

We communicate with our customers in their preferred medium. That means we are available by telephone, email or online chat.
